“The Occupy Wall Street demonstrators are shining a light on one of the most serious problems facing the United States: the greed, recklessness and power of Wall Street. Now is the time for the president and Congress to follow that light – and act. The future of our economy is at stake.” - Bernie Sanders, Rein in Wall Street and rescue the middle class, The Guardian

Anonymous Announces Next Target: The New York Stock Exchange
This past weekend, as #OccupyWallSt entered its third week in existence, the “hack-tivist” group Anonymous declared war on the New York Stock Exchange, threatening to “erase NYSE from the Internet.”
In a video, posted to the TheAnonMessage Youtube channel, the an electronic voice warns that, “On Oct. 10, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet. On Oct. 10, expect a day that will never, ever be forgotten.”
The threats come on the heels of another Anonymous declaration, although the earlier release was directed at the NYPD in retaliation for their mass arrests and reports of brutality against #OccupyWallSt protesters.
The new Anonymous video, and a transcript, are below
Greetings, institutions of the media.
We are Anonymous.
The events transpiring within Wall Street have caught our eye.
It seems that the government and federal agencies enjoy enforcing the law a little bit too much. They instate unjust laws as mindless automatons, blindly following orders with soulless precision.
We witness the government enforcing the laws that punish the 99 percent while allowing the 1 percent to escape justice, unharmed, for their crimes against the people.
We have observed this same government failing to enforce even the minimal legal restraints of Wall Street’s abuses. This government who has willingly ignored the greed at Wall Street has even bailed out the perpetrators that have caused our crisis.
We will not stand by and watch the system take over our way of life.
We the people shall stand against the government’s inaction.
We the people will not be witnesses to your corruption and ill-gotten profits.
We will not labor for your leisure.
We will not assist you in any way.
This is why we choose to declare our war against the New York Stock Exchange. We can no longer stay silent as the population is being exploited and forced to make sacrifices in the name of profit.
We will show the world that we are true to our word. On Oct. 10, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet. On Oct. 10, expect a day that will never, ever be forgotten.

We are Legion. We are the 99 percent.
We do not forgive. We do not forget.

Occupy Wall Street meeting was interrupted with the news that bicycle riders from Critical Mass were surrounded by NYPD just a block away from Zuccotti / Liberty Plaza. 200 of us went over to see for ourselves. police, overwhelmed by our numbers, fled the scene.
This is completely false. The police blocked them off and made them stop. Then they started arresting them. That’s what happened in the livestream. Reblog and decry their lies.
mass media is covering this at all?
Russell Simmons: I will bring hundreds of thousands to ‘Occupy Wall Street’
Hip hop magnate Russell Simmons said Thursday on MSNBC that he planned on joining the ongoing “Occupy Wall Street” in lower Manhattan.
Simmons, who has an estimated net-worth of $340 million, noted that all his employees paid more taxes than he did.
“Last time I got involved in a protest I brought a hundred thousand people there, for the Rockefeller Drug Laws,” he said. “And if I get involved really heavily in this one, we find the agenda and have a common ground… we can bring hundreds of thousands of people… small seeds are planted, but it could grow into something very big.”
Well shit yes!
The revolution will not be televised… but it will be live streamed over the internet
REBLOG THIS - Its the peoples era!
Those are good cops. The others should find their spine and do the same thing. Cops protecting the scum in Wall Street are protecting those who are enslaving them and their own kids and grand kids.
Over 100 NYPD Officers Refuse to Work in Support of Occupy Wall Street MovementThe Occupy Wall Street movement issued the following statement on their website:
“Today we received unconfirmed reports that over one hundred blue collar police refused to come into work in solidarity with our movement. These numbers will grow. We are the 99 percent. You will not silence us.”Just to show not all cops are slaves to their masters.

The petition states, “We demand that Anthony Bologna be charged with assault for his actions and that he sees jail time.”
It also states, “We demand that Mayor Michael Bloomberg address the Occupy Wall Street & General Assembly and apologize for the police brutality and the weak attempt at a cover-up that has followed.”
Also included in the petition is a request to remove NYPD Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly for not being able to control senior officers but in “sheltering them from receiving punishment.”
Bologna clearly displayed not only a lack of judgment but also a reprehensible reaction to his own actions—running away from his handiwork and, according to some, laughter. At the very least, the pepper-spray incident deserves investigation, as well as the high-tailing it from the scene; but the laughter after the fact should be investigated as well.
It seems that Bologna has a history with protesters. Bologna stands accused of false arrest and civil rights violations in a 2007 claim filed by a protester who attended the 2004 Republican National Convention demonstrations. The case is to be heard next year. And Cryptome makes reference to a 2001 May Day incident in which Bologna shoved two protesters.
Head over to Change.org to sign the petition.
